Plant description
Tiny clusters of red flowers in spring are closely followed by the emergence of deeply lobed, dark green leaves, which turn brilliant red in autumn before being shed. This beautiful, round-headed, red maple makes an excellent ornamental feature in a large garden. Although the tree tolerates some lime, the best autumn leaf colour is achieved when it is grown in fertile, moisture-retentive, neutral to acid soil in full sun.
