Plant description
An upright, semi-vigorous plum tree boasting dark green oval leaves and a profusion of white blossoms in spring. Come early autumn, it yields an abundant harvest of large, purple-blue scented plums with sweet and juicy yellow flesh. ‘Hagenta’ is a reliable and flavourful variety, partly self-fertile and notably standing out as one of the latest-ripening plum varieties, with fruits ready for picking in September. Next to the ever popular βVictoriaβ plum, ‘Hagenta’ proves itself as one of the heaviest-cropping plum trees, with its free-stone fruits separating easily from the flesh.
Pollination Information: Though partially self-fertile, this plum will produce a bigger crop if planted with another variety of plum. Ideally this should come from the same pollination group 3, however it is possible to use one from group 2 or 4 as well.
